Description of the specialty 

"Tourism and Event Management" program offers the opportunity to enter the exciting world of event management, a sector that has grown in Kazakhstan in recent years and plays an increasingly important role in creating business profiles, public relations campaigns and professional development of employees. The concept of training is oriented towards practically useful career qualifications. An important component of the course is the focus on tourism project management and Event Management, thanks to which students will be trained in project management skills and tools for effective planning, budgeting, resource allocation, forming project teams, understanding team dynamics and monitoring the progress of the project.

It is based on an interdisciplinary approach specializing in tourism management. It offers professional seminars, advanced courses, excursions, guest lectures.

Students will learn everything about the organization and management of the event, from meeting deadlines to focusing on the smallest details. Provides students with knowledge, skills and tools for successful research, planning, implementation and evaluation of the event.

Educational program of the specialty "Tourism and Event Management" is implemented in two educational trajectories of training students:

1. Tourism Management is based on an interdisciplinary approach specializing in tourism management. It offers professional seminars, advanced courses, excursions, guest lectures.

2. On the Event Management trajectory, students will learn everything about organizing and managing an event, from meeting deadlines to focusing on the smallest details. Provides students with knowledge, skills and tools for successful research, planning, implementation and evaluation of the event.

Features  of the specialty

- Internationally recognized certification - American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) - the world leader in the field of training in the hotel business, including online.

- 50% of disciplines by specialty are taught in a dual format, that is, they are studied in practice in restaurants and hotels. Dual training places - Rixos Almaty hotel, Cafe Central, Roma Café, Monin, “Ratatouille” School of Gastronomy and Service and so on.

- 70% of specialized disciplines are taught in English.

- The second foreign language — French.

- For the first time in Kazakhstan, academic disciplines of the specialty are implemented on the basis of AHLEI and Hong Kong PolyU.
- International projection and work mobility. Students have the opportunity to study abroad and can take international courses at recognized travel agencies (IESEG School of Management, Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration, Kadir Has University, NEOMA Business School, Solbridge International School of Business, Hong Kong PolyU, etc. )
